Health and Hygeine

During term 3 we have been learning about keeping ourselves healthy with health and hygeine.
I found out that you need to wash your hands for about 20 seconds. You could sing Happy Birthday to your self so you know you have washed your hands for long enough. From Charlotte

America

I am Leah and this week I am going to America - in one more day! I am so excited. I can't wait because it will be the best experience and it will be so much fun. We are going away for six mouths and leaving on Thursday. We will be living in an R. We are going to Disneyland - how cool is that! One thing that is so so cool is that we get to do school work, Yay!On Wednesday I am having a party in our class.

Learning about Van Gogh

In Room 3 we are learning about Vincent van Gogh

Here are some facts
He completed 872 paintings. 1019 drawings and 150 watercolors in only 10 years.
Starry starry nights was painted in 1889.
He took piano lessons for a short time. However his teacher forced him to quit when he told the teacher that the piano notes ranged in color from blue to yellow.
His works were signed Vincent because he belived, and rightly so, that Van gogh was too difficult for people

Keeping our Teeth Healthy

In room 3 we have been learning about teeth. We've been watching a DVD.
The DVD was called saving tooth kingdom. Here are some tips.
1. Brush everyday - morning and night!!
2. Try not to eat too many sweet foods

Letter writing

This year we have been learing about letter writing. We have written to the postie to find out some information on the post. We will let you know what we find out.

Steps to make paper

1. Rip up paper
2. Soak in water
3. Put the mixture into the blender and add food colouring to make nice colours.
4. Por the mixture into a tub.
5. Use a frame with mesh to scoop out the paper
6. Put the frame on the ground and use a sponge to push it flat.
7. Leave it to dry

Making Paper

Last week Mrs Calder came to teach our class and we made paper.
First we had to rip up paper into bits the size of our thumb nail.

What we have been learning

We are learning about keeping our selvs safe. We made some photostories in class to show how to keep ourselves safe. This photostory is about road safety. We dont have any sound on this one but it is still cool.
We made one about sun and water safety which we shared at assembly. Some people were rubbing in sun screan and everyone was wearing a hat. Some children researched facts on sun and water safety.
